The most common signs a dehumidifier needs repair are continuous running without lowering humidity, ice on the coils, leaks at the base, foul or musty smells, weak airflow, or error codes on the control panel. Each points to a different fix — refrigerant, sensor, drain, or motor — and most are inexpensive when caught early.
Watch for these
- Humidity readings staying high even with the unit running
- Ice on the coil or refrigerant lines
- Water leaking from the base or drain line
- Musty odor from the unit
- Weak or noisy fan
- Error codes on the control panel
For whole-home units, we diagnose and repair through our dehumidifier service. For homes with chronic humidity, also consider whole-home ventilation and duct sealing.
