Most homes should have air ducts cleaned every 3 to 7 years. Homes with pets, smokers, allergy sufferers, recent remodels, or visibly dirty registers may need cleaning more often. Newer homes with sealed ducts and high-MERV filters can stretch toward the longer end of that range.
