You’ll know you have high water pressure if you see banging or water-hammer noise when valves close, faucets spray harder than normal, recurring toilet fill valve leaks, water heater T&P valve weeping, or a pressure gauge reading above 80 PSI. Residential pressure should sit between 50 and 70 PSI; above 80 PSI is hard on every fixture in the home.
