A pressure-reducing valve (PRV) is a specialized plumbing valve installed on your home’s main water line that automatically reduces incoming municipal water pressure to a safer level (typically 50–70 PSI). City pressure often exceeds 80 PSI, which damages fixtures, valves, supply lines, and appliances over time — the PRV protects the entire home.
What a PRV does
- Reduces incoming pressure to a set point
- Protects fixtures, valves, and appliances
- Required by code when city pressure exceeds 80 PSI
- Adjustable for fine-tuning
- Lasts 7–15 years
We install, test, and replace PRVs through our pressure and backflow service.
