Installing a ductless air conditioner (mini-split) involves mounting the indoor head, mounting the outdoor condenser, running the refrigerant line set, electrical, and condensate drain between them, pressure-testing and evacuating the lines, charging refrigerant, and commissioning the system. A single-zone install takes about a day; multi-zone systems take 1–3 days.
Installation steps
- Mount indoor head and bracket
- Mount outdoor condenser on pad or wall bracket
- Drill 3″ hole for line set
- Run refrigerant lines, electrical, and condensate
- Pressure test and evacuate lines
- Release refrigerant and commission
- Program remote and verify operation
This is licensed-HVAC work — refrigerant requires EPA certification. See our ductless mini-split service for design, install, and warranty.
