The electric meter measures the electricity you use, and the mast (or service entrance) is the conduit and weatherhead that carries utility wires from overhead service drop into the meter and then into your panel. The mast is your responsibility above the meter; the wires above the weatherhead are the utility’s responsibility.
How the path works
