Whole-house humidifiers should be maintained once a year, ideally in the fall before heating season starts. Annual maintenance includes replacing the evaporator pad or canister, cleaning mineral buildup, testing the solenoid valve, calibrating the humidistat, and clearing the drain.

Annual maintenance

  • Clean scale and mineral buildup
  • Test solenoid valve operation
  • Verify drain flow
  • Calibrate humidistat to current target
  • Run cycle and confirm output

Annual humidifier service is included in our Mainstream Maintenance Plan, or schedule via indoor air quality.
