Kitchen remodels typically need dedicated circuits for every major appliance, GFCI protection on every counter outlet, undercabinet lighting circuits, and often a 240V circuit for a new range or double oven. Modern code also requires AFCI protection on most lighting and receptacle circuits and tamper-resistant outlets throughout.
Typical kitchen circuit upgrades
- Two dedicated 20A small-appliance circuits at countertops
- Dedicated circuits for dishwasher, disposal, refrigerator, and microwave
- 240V circuit for electric range or double oven
- GFCI protection on every counter outlet (within 6 feet of a sink, etc.)
- Undercabinet, recessed, and pendant lighting circuits
- Optional smart switches and dimmers
Our electricians plan and install remodel electrical from rough-in through trim, plus GFCI installation, indoor lighting, and any panel upgrades the remodel requires.
