A backflow preventer is a one-way valve assembly installed on a water line to keep contaminated water from flowing back into your drinking-water supply. Your home needs one wherever there’s a possible cross-connection — most commonly on lawn irrigation, fire sprinkler systems, hose bibs in some jurisdictions, and any commercial equipment that uses water.
Why it matters
- Protects drinking water from contamination during pressure drops
- Required by state and local code on irrigation and many commercial uses
- Failures can allow pesticides, fertilizers, or pool water into your supply
- Must be tested annually by a certified tester
We install, test, repair, and replace through our backflow prevention service, and we handle irrigation-specific PVB work too.
