The duct-sealing process starts with a pre-test of duct leakage, then either hand sealing accessible joints with mastic or Aeroseal injection for hard-to-reach leaks, followed by a verification test. Aeroseal jobs run 4–8 hours; hand sealing on accessible ducts can run a half-day to a day depending on access.
Step-by-step
- Measure existing duct leakage (CFM at 25 Pa)
- Identify accessible joints — seal with mastic and metal tape
- For inaccessible runs, inject Aeroseal aerosol sealant
- Re-measure leakage and verify improvement
- Provide a written before/after report
We pick the right method for your system. See Aeroseal duct sealing for hard-to-reach systems, or traditional duct sealing when ducts are accessible.
