EV Charging

Charge at home — every car, every brand.

A Level 2 (240V) home charger adds 25–40 miles of range per hour vs. the 3–5 miles you get on a standard outlet. For most EV owners, that’s the difference between leaving the house every morning at 100% vs. planning your week around public chargers. Install is a 4–6 hour job for most homes.

We install for every electric vehicle on the market — Tesla (Model S/3/X/Y/Cybertruck), Ford (F-150 Lightning, Mustang Mach-E), GM (Bolt, Equinox EV, Silverado EV, Hummer EV), Rivian (R1T, R1S), Hyundai (Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6, Kona EV), Kia (EV6, EV9, Niro EV), BMW (i4, i5, i7, iX), Mercedes (EQ lineup), Polestar (2, 3, 4), Lucid (Air), Volkswagen (ID.4), Audi (e-tron lineup), Volvo, Genesis, Subaru Solterra, Toyota bZ4X, Nissan (Leaf, Ariya), and more. Tesla Wall Connector, ChargePoint Home Flex, JuiceBox, Wallbox, Grizzl-E, and others.

  • Every EV brand Tesla, Ford, GM, Rivian, Hyundai, Kia, BMW, Mercedes, and every other electric car.
  • Level 2 charging 240V install adds 25–40 miles of range per hour of charging.
  • Rebates handled Avista EV charger rebates and federal tax credits — we file the paperwork.
  • Manufacturer-approved 1-year labor warranty plus manufacturer charger warranty (typically 3 years).

When to Install

When you need Level 2 charging

If you've bought or you're about to buy an EV, the answer is almost always 'now'. Quick checks:

  • Just bought an EV

Best time to install — many manufacturers cover or rebate charger and install cost.

  • Daily commute over 20 miles

Level 1 charging (standard outlet) doesn't keep up. Level 2 solves it.

  • Multi-EV household

Two EVs need either two chargers or a smart load-managed install.

  • Old or full electrical panel

EV charger may require a panel upgrade or smart load management — assess before purchase.

  • Have solar or planning to

EV + solar pairs well — we configure charging to maximize solar usage.

  • Workplace or multi-family EV

Commercial EV charging for offices, restaurants, apartments, and HOAs.

An EV charger install, start to finish

Most installs done in 4–6 hours. Panel upgrades add a day.

We check panel capacity, charger location, and routing — and recommend a charger if you don't have one yet.

  2. Fixed-price quote

Charger, install, panel upgrade (if needed), and Avista rebate paperwork — all in writing.

  3. Install

Run circuit, install charger, test, and verify proper amperage. Most jobs done same-day.

EV Charging — Frequently Asked Questions

Do you install for every EV brand?

Yes. Tesla, Ford, GM, Rivian, Hyundai, Kia, BMW, Mercedes, Polestar, Lucid, Volkswagen, Audi, Volvo, Genesis, Subaru, Toyota, Nissan — every electric car on the market. We install the manufacturer’s branded charger or a universal Level 2 charger that works with your car. Tell us your vehicle and we’ll recommend the right charger.

What's Level 2 charging?

240V charging at home — adds 25–40 miles of range per hour vs. 3–5 miles per hour on a standard 120V outlet. For most drivers, Level 2 means leaving the house every morning fully charged.

Do I need a panel upgrade?

Sometimes. Older panels (100A or smaller) often can’t add a 40–60A EV circuit without exceeding capacity. We do a load calc as part of the estimate and tell you honestly. Alternatives include smart load management or a Span/Lumin smart panel that lets the EV share capacity with other circuits.

What rebates are available?

Avista offers rebates of up to $500 on qualifying Level 2 chargers installed in their service area. Federal tax credits cover up to 30% of charger + install (subject to annual limits). We handle all paperwork.

Can I install one myself?

You can install a NEMA 14-50 outlet under owner-builder rules in some jurisdictions, but the panel and circuit work requires a licensed electrician. Hard-wired Level 2 chargers always require a licensed electrician. DIY installs typically void manufacturer warranties.

Do you do commercial EV charging?

Yes. Office, restaurant, multi-family, HOA, and workplace EV charging installs — single or multi-port — in both Washington and Idaho.

Is the work warrantied?

Every install includes a 1-year Mainstream labor warranty plus the manufacturer warranty on the charger (typically 3 years).
