How long does replacement take?
Most straightforward tank replacements take 3–5 hours and are completed same-day. Tank-to-tankless conversions and heat-pump water heater installs take 1–2 days because of gas, electrical, and venting work.
What size do I need?
For tank water heaters: 40-gallon for 1–3 people, 50-gallon for 3–4, 65–80 gallon for 5+. For tankless, sizing is based on flow rate (gallons per minute) and incoming water temperature — we calculate based on your household’s peak demand.
What rebates are available?
Avista offers rebates on qualifying gas tankless, hybrid heat-pump, and high-efficiency tank water heaters. Federal tax credits cover up to 30% of qualifying heat-pump water heaters. We handle all the paperwork.
Do you offer financing?
Yes — including 0% APR for qualified buyers. We’ll pre-qualify you in minutes during the in-home estimate.
What's warrantied?
6–12 year manufacturer warranty on tanks (depending on model), 12–15 years on tankless, plus our 2-year Mainstream labor warranty. Care Club members get extended labor coverage.
