Duct Cleaning
A proper duct cleaning isn’t a guy with a shop vac. It’s a NADCA-method process: physical containment, mechanical agitation inside the duct, and a truck-mounted negative-pressure HEPA vacuum pulling debris out of the entire system at once. Done right, it takes 3–5 hours and produces a measurable difference. Done wrong, it’s worse than nothing — it can dislodge debris that ends up in your living space.
We’re upfront about something most companies aren’t: most homes don’t need duct cleaning. The EPA’s published position is that it’s warranted when there’s visible mold, vermin infestation, or significant dust release from registers — not as routine maintenance. We’ll inspect with a camera first and tell you honestly whether you’ll benefit. When you will, we do it right.
When Cleaning Helps
Most "dusty house" complaints have other causes — leaky returns, missing filters, or duct disconnects. These are the symptoms where duct cleaning genuinely helps:
Mold growth on duct interior, the coil, or the air handler — EPA's #1 reason for cleaning.
Rodent nests, droppings, or insect debris in the ductwork — a clear health concern.
Significant dust release when the system starts — points to real buildup, not just normal household dust.
Inland Northwest wildfire seasons leave PM2.5 residue in ducts — best removed before heating season.
Drywall dust, sawdust, and demo debris accumulate in supply and return ducts during construction.
Buying a home? You don't know what's in the ducts. A camera inspection is the right first step.
What We Clean
NADCA standards require cleaning the entire system — not just the visible registers. Here's what that actually means.
How It Works
Containment first, cleaning second, proof third. Typically 3–5 hours start to finish.
We look first. If cleaning won't help, we tell you — no charge for the honest answer.
Drop cloths, corner protection, register sealing — your home stays clean.
Truck-mounted HEPA vacuum hooked to the main trunk. We agitate and vacuum every run.
Same camera, same access points — you see exactly what changed before we leave.
Save on the work your home needs most.

For most homes, only when a problem warrants it — visible mold, vermin, significant dust release, post-renovation, or after a wildfire-smoke season. The EPA does not recommend routine cleaning on a schedule. If you have pets, allergies, or smokers in the home, the timeline shortens; we’ll give you an honest recommendation after the camera inspection.
A typical 3-bedroom home takes 3–5 hours from setup to teardown. Larger homes or systems with more supply and return runs can take a full day. We confirm the time window when we schedule, and we’ll text you a tech photo and live ETA the morning of.
If the ducts are genuinely dirty, yes — measurably. If your symptoms are caused by something else (leaky returns, missing or wrong-sized filter, blower buildup, humidity), cleaning the ducts alone won’t fix it. We diagnose the root cause first so the money you spend actually solves the problem.
Equipment, mostly. A truck-mounted negative-pressure HEPA vacuum is in a different league than a portable system or a shop vac. NADCA standards also require physical access to every duct run — which means pulling registers and using mechanical agitation, not just running a hose down a trunk. We’re upfront on price because we do the work that produces results.
Sometimes. If significant buildup is restricting airflow, cleaning restores it and the system runs less. But the bigger wins on energy bills are duct sealing (10–20% reduction is realistic) and proper tune-ups. We’ll measure static pressure before and after so any improvement is documented.
Yes. Dryer vent cleaning is a separate add-on service — and a smart one. Clogged dryer vents are a leading cause of home fires and dramatically reduce dryer efficiency. Most homes should have it done every 1–2 years.
Every duct cleaning includes our Home Comfort Guarantee. If you don’t see and feel a difference, we come back and make it right. Care Club members get a discount on dryer vent service and priority scheduling.
